Afrobeats story
Afrobeats (not to be confused with Afrobeat), also known as Afro-pop and Afro-fusion, is an umbrella term describing contemporary pop music made in West Africa and its diaspora, that initially developed in Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom in the 2000s and 2010s.
Afrobeats is more of a term describing the fusion of sounds from Ghana and Nigeria than a style.
Jazz Story
Jazz is a musical genre originating in the southern United States, created in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in African-American communities. With more than a hundred years of existence, from ragtime to present-day jazz, it encompasses many sub-genres marked by a heritage of Euro-American and African-American music, and designed to be played in public.
It emerged from other musical genres, including ragtime, marching, negro spiritual and blues, and features such characteristics as frequent use of improvisation, polyrhythm, syncopation, shuffle, scat and blue notes. Along the way, it borrows many elements from American folk music and the brass band tradition3. Commonly associated with the five iconic instruments of jazz
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Clarinet and piano
Jazz also involves many different instruments, including guitar, drums, and double bass.
