šŸ”„ The Vision

I started Afroplug not with code, not with funding, but with a vision:
To empower music producers who are often overlooked — especially those who create Afro, Latin, Caribbean, and Diaspora sounds. The ones like me.

I’m a DJ, a producer, an artist from Cameroon and Guadeloupe, with a background in marketing (MBA + Harvard certified). I didn’t have a technical co-founder or investor support. But I had an idea, and I believed in it deeply.

šŸš€ The Beginning

Afroplug started in my bedroom in Belgium.
No team. No budget. Just me, testing ideas and sharing them with the community.

I didn’t wait for perfection. I launched a simple website, shared free loop packs, and started talking to real producers — understanding their needs, listening to their pain points.

And slowly… they came. 100… 1,000… then 100,000 users across the world.
Today, Afroplug tools are used by Grammy-winning producers of Drake, Davido, Burna Boy, BeyoncƩ, and more.

🧰 I Built Without Code

If you think you need to know how to code to start a music tech company — you don’t.
I used tools like:

  • Notion for planning
  • Gumroad / Payhip for selling
  • Webflow and Airtable for simple site/database logic
  • Google Forms + Mailchimp for feedback and community building

This is what people call ā€œNo-Codeā€. For me, it was just hustle + resourcefulness.

šŸ’¬ What I’ve Learned (And What You Can Apply)

Here are 5 lessons I want every music producer, artist, or creative entrepreneur to remember:

  1. Start small and launch fast
Don’t wait for perfect. Drop something. Listen. Improve.
  2. Focus on your niche
Afroplug didn’t try to serve everyone — just the ones like me.
  3. Build community before code
Talk to your audience. Know their struggles. Solve real problems.
  4. No one’s coming to save you
Don’t wait for a CTO, label, or investor. Start with what you have.
  5. Document your journey
Your story is part of your product. People don’t just buy sounds — they connect with energy.

šŸŽ„ I Share It All on YouTube

If you’re a producer or founder on your own path, I made a full video for you.

šŸ’œ Thank You

To the amazing producers, DJs, and artists who use Afroplug — I see you.
To my team who believed in this crazy idea — thank you.
And to anyone starting from nothing: you don’t need to be technical. You just need to be unstoppable.

Let’s build.
