Over the years, music production and DJing have been male-dominated industries. However, there has been a rise of talented Black women in these fields who are creating amazing music and contributing to the growth of afro music worldwide. In this article released in international women month, and black women, we will showcase 13 of these incredible Black female music producers and DJs who are making waves in the industry and creating afro diaspora music that is enjoyed by fans all over the world
Nowadays, it is more important than ever to shine a light on the black female producers & DJs who are creating quality content. These women are often overlooked, despite their significant contributions to the music industry. This blog post will introduce 13 Upcoming and Well-known black female DJs & Producers from different countries who make a significant contribution in Afro Diaspora Music
Ms Mavy
Ms Mavy is a multi-creative musician born in France, and of Guadeloupean and Cameroonian origin. In a difficult childhood, music saved her : cradled between Caribbean music from Guadeloupe, French music from her country of birth and music from Cameroon and neighboring countries, and her love for Afro-American rnb and hip-hop music, and especially for Missy Elliot and Toni Braxton : her unique musical sound was born, Future Beats, Soul, Lo-Fi and Rhythms of the African Diaspora
After gaining 1 Millions Streams on Soundcloud and released experimental several projects as an artist : she made collaborations with mythical Jamaican Reggae group Suns of Dub on a remix of one of their tracks with Sizzla. She also later released projects as a music producer, was broadcasted on Soulection, BBC Radio and collaborated on the last album of Branko, the Portuguese DJ, producer of M.I.A and founder of the group Buraka Som Sistema.
In her musical career, she has worked with musicians who have produced for artists such as , Aya Nakamura, Major Lazer and more. She has also performed as a DJ in the US, Canada, South America, Paris, Belgium, England and more.
After an observation of lack of diversity and difficulty in finding the right tools to create your music, in the known music production apps, in 2021, she launched Afroplug : 1st Music tech startup specializing in Afro music production representing over 50 Afro genres existing in the world, a young structure that to date has brought in over 50,000 users of their free plugins, paid sample packs and AI app features

Ms Mavy continues to regularly create and release music whenever she’s inspired : an ode to her African and Caribbean roots.
Lauryn Hill

Ebony Naomi Oshunrinde, born December 28, 1996, better known as WondaGurl, is a Canadian producer, beatmaker and songwriter. WondaGurl has produced beats for many artists such as Travis Scott , Jay-Z, Drake, Kanye West and many more.
