Bruno Mars Story

Peter Gene Hernandez, known as Bruno Mars, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, dancer-choreographer, art director, producer, director, stylist and businessman, born on October 8, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He grew up in a musical family and got his start in music by producing other artists, through the production team The Smeezingtons with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine.

He is known for his live performances, retro staging and performances in a wide variety of musical styles including RnB, funk, pop, soul, reggae, hip hop and rock.

Bruno Mars is accompanied by his band, The Hooligans, who play many instruments, such as electric guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums and horns, and also performs as a dancer1.

He made a name for himself with B.o.B’s Nothin’ on You, followed by Travie McCoy’s Billionaire, before the worldwide release of his debut album Doo-Wops and Hooligans in 2010. He also co-wrote many tracks including Right Round by Flo Rida, Wavin’ Flag by K’naan or Fuck You! by Cee Lo Green.

In 2012, his second album Unorthodox Jukebox (2012) reached number one in the United States, Australia, Canada, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, winning a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. It contains the songs Locked Out of Heaven, When I Was Your Man and Treasure, which are international hits. The former won a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

In 2011, Mars recorded the single It Will Rain for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011). In 2014, he appeared on Mark Ronson’s track Uptown Funk. Two years later, he released his third album titled 24K Magic, focusing on R & B.

The record debuted at number two in the United States, Canada, France and New Zealand and received seven Grammy Awards, winning the major categories of Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Bruno Mars’ music blends different musical styles. He works with artists from a variety of musical genres; these collaborations are reflected in his own music. As a child, he was heavily influenced by artists such as Elvis Presley, James Brown and Michael Jackson. Bruno Mars is also inspired by reggae and Motown sounds.
