Afroplug was founded by Ms Mavy, a music producer, DJ, entrepreneur and music tech founder with an MBA in marketing and Harvard Certified.

She built Afroplug to scratch to empower 100K+ Producers and beyond with Afro-inspired tools, 100% accessible and modern.

 

Afroplug was launched in 2021, fully bootstrapped, with the goal of bridging culture and music technology.

Once you download our plugins or sound packs, you’re free to use them in any commercial project — beats, placements, albums, videos, etc.

 

Afroplug plugins are available in:

  • AU (Mac)

  • Windows Installer

They work in most modern DAWs:

  • FL Studio

  • Ableton Live

  • Bitwig

  • Reaper

If your DAW supports VST3 or AU, Mac Installer or Windows Installer, you’re good.

To install Afroplug plugins and apps, follow these steps:

  1. Download the installer from the link provided after your purchase or from your Afroplug account.

  2. Unzip the file if it’s in .zip format.

  3. Run the installer:

    • On Mac: double-click the .pkg or .dmg file, then follow the installation steps.

    • On Windows: double-click the .exe file and follow the instructions.

  4. Keep all files in the same folder, including the ROM file (soundbank).

    • ⚠️ Do not move or rename the ROM file — otherwise, the plugin may not load sounds correctly.

  5. If the plugin asks you to import a soundbank:

    • Click on the ROM file provided in the same folder as the plugin.

    • Once imported, sounds should be available and ready to use.

  6. Plugin location:

    • On Mac:
      AU → /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
      VST3 → /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

    • On Windows:
      VST3 → C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

  7. Open your DAW and rescan your plugins if needed.
