J Dilla, whose real name is James Dewitt Yancey (February 7, 1974 in Detroit, Michigan – February 10, 2006 in Los Angeles, California), is an American composer, producer, disc jockey, rapper and singer, member of the group Slum Village until 2001.

Yancey, born on February 7, 1974 in Detroit, Michigan, is the oldest of four children: a sister (Martha) and two brothers, Earl and John, the latter of whom would later begin playing music under the name Illa J.

The family lived in a house near McDougall and Nevada on the east side of Detroit. He developed a vast musical knowledge thanks to his parents (his mother an opera singer and his father a jazz bass player). He began collecting vinyl records.

He then developed a passion for hip-hop. He met T3 and Baatin at Pershing High School in Detroit, and became friends with them through their mutual passion for rap battles. The three formed a group called Slum Village. He also began beatmaking using a simple tapedeck in his studio. During his younger years, he stayed in his studio alone with his collection of recordings, perfecting his work. He would later tell Pete Rock, I was trying to become like you.

Many people said he is the foundation of the main actual popular genre : lo-fi.

Minimoog Voyager es un sintetizador analógico creado por la empresa estadounidense Moog desde 2002. Un verdadero sintetizador analógico monofónico, es una versión actualizada del legendario Minimoog producido entre 1970 y 1982 por la empresa Moog.

Tiene una implementación Midi completa que permite utilizarlo como un teclado maestro polifónico, y los parámetros de sonido se almacenan digitalmente. Se ha introducido un pad que permite jugar instantáneamente con los parámetros de sonido.
